Restoring Afrikan-Centered Education
H.O.P. has partnered with the Village in Kuntu in the District
of Salt Pond, Ghana, West Afrika to help educate its child-
ren and empower its people for a productive future. Secretary
General Kofi Annan is from this area, but it was the Help
Ourselves Project that provided the village with school desks,
several computers, file cabinets and school supplies. With your
suport we will bring computer training to its children and
adults, as well as a job training center. To find out more on
how you can help donate, please visit our support page.

H.O.P providing technological assistance for the people of
Kuntu's educational programs during a ceremony at a Kuntu
annual festival.
In addition to the efforts to help advance the technological capabilities for Kuntu Village's educational center, the Help Ourselves Project in Ghana is also working to create a conference center and a travel lodge coop resort in the village of Kuntu located in the Salt Pond District of Ghana's Central Region province.
The goal of this project is to provide an affordable means for tourists and regional travelers through supplying cooperative assistance to the people of the village of Kuntu. Additionally, these project efforts will serve as a critical factor to facilitate job opportunities for the people of the village of Kuntu to sustain themselves and enhance their overall livelihoods.
This vision was made possible by the tireless works of the late Nana Del Jones, W.C. who was bestowed the honorable title, Nana Kuntu, by Chief Nana Brebo and the elders of the village of Kuntu. Through the help of Bro. Philip Dadzie, a HOP member, a partnership was formed between the people of Kuntu and the Help Ourselves Project organization.
Del Jones, W.C. earned his Associates Degree from the school of hard knocks, his Bachelor of Science was in organizing in the streets and on college campuses. His Master's Degree was in dissecting the media's deceptions, distortions, lies, half-truths, and re-presenting it back to the people in its true form. As a result of all of these experiences, he earned the credentials of a Revolutionary, Pan-Afrikanist and War Correspondent (henceforth the letters, W.C. appear after his name).
In 1973, Bro. Del was one of the founding members of the Committee for Pan-Afrikanist Development (CPAD), which was to be his major vehicle for our people's liberation. Bro. Del has studied and covered the violent elections in Jamaica, actively participated in a fact finding team on the island of Greneda weeks before its invasion by the U.S. He also has traveled and studied the situation in southern Afrika.
The HOP Kuntu Village Conference Center and Guest House Project expects to enter into its ground-breaking phase on the conference center during the end of the 2009 calender year. Momentum is expected to gain more steam in 2010 to complete the conference center and break more ground for start-up villas and restaurant or entertainment club.
Help Ourselves Project is seeking donations for this project which has a lot of promise for both tourists, business people as well as the local people, particularly the people of Kuntu.
