The Food Buyers Club Program

The Help Ourselves Project is delivering a regional produce distribution.

HOP's fresh produce comes from small minority local farms to ensure that their harvests are reaching neighborhoods that typically do not have whole foods conveniently available to them.

Several years ago, H.O.P. began our collaboration with Black
Farmers and the cooperative extension programs of Historically
Black Colleges and Universities to initiate a food-buying club to
acheive the following goals and objectives:

- Expand our distribution infrastructure to serve as a viable market outlet for food products and other goods and services.

- Promote the perpetuation of Black farmers and the distribution of healthy, inexpensive foods to individuals, organizations and institutions within our communities.

- Bridge the gap between Black farmers and consumers and promote healthy eating and dietary practices within our community as means to diminish poor health and nutrition.

HOP's Food Buyer's Club program is scheduled to start this summer 2010. Stay tuned for more updates to this program schedule.

We will be offering the following wide range of fresh produce items to our food buying club members:
